Amidst community transmission, about 200 locally stranded individuals (LSIs) are set to arrive in Bien Unido town today.
According to Cebu City Councilor Joel Garganera, they will be transported into two batches.
Garganera, who is also the deputy chief implementer for COVID-19 in the city, added that the first batch has already boarded the vessel provided by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
“This is a sweeper trip arranged by the Municipality of Buen Unido and Philippine Coast Guard,” he said.
The Coast Guard Station in Cebu facilitated the ground arrangement while Commander Dan Augusto Cariño facilitated them on board the PCG vessel BRP Suluan.
A similar trip with the same number of passengers was also arranged this afternoon at around 2 p.m.
