The 13-year-old boy who was previously tested positive for Covid-19 has been tested negative for novel coronavirus, Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap reported on Sunday night, July 26.

The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test was conducted by the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City after the boy tested positive.

Yap also added that the mother and the five-year-old younger of the 13-year-old boy were also tested negative in PCR test.

The local chief executive said that an area in Barangay Dampas which was placed under lockdown will be lifted as soon as the City Health Office will receive the complete results.

Last week, the Tagbilaran Maternity and Children’s Hospital (TMCH) temporarily closed its operations after the younger brother of the 13-year-old was admitted for fever and vomitting.

TMCH said the mother did not disclose that they were under home monitoring.
