A 13-year-old boy has tested positive for coronavirus 2019, Mayor Baba Yap reported on Sunday.

In a Facebook post, Yap said that the boy, a resident of Purok Centro 1 in Barangay Dampas, tested positive for COVID-19 through PCR test.

He is presently the youngest person, who has contracted the virus in Bohol Province.

Mayor Yap said the boy was tested as part of contact tracing efforts.

This was after his cousin, a Locally Stranded Individual who went back to Manila from Tagbilaran, earlier tested positive for the virus.

Fortunately, the boy, does not manifest any symptoms, and has been under home quarantine.

The local chief executive said the area will be placed under lockdown.

“E lockdown nato ang mga balay sa area, hatdan og relief goods og e transfer ni sya og iyang pamilya sa isolation area kuyog ang family. Siya lang ang ni positive sa tanan gi test, og usbon napod nato og PCR test ang family og ang silingan,” Yap said.

As of July 19, Tagbilaran now has 21 Covid-19 cases, 8 active cases, 13 recoveries and no death.

Bohol province now has a total of 69 confirmed cases.
