As anxiety hovers the province over coronavirus, the Ramiro Community Hospital in Tagbilaran City earned praises from netizens for its honest approach.
Netinzens lauded the Ramiro Community Hospital for its “commitment to transparency” and how it handled the probable Covid-19 case admitted in its facility.
A 17-year-old girl underwent an appendectomy at the Ramiro Community Hospital when she exhibited possibility of contracting the viral infection via a rapid antibody test.
The RCH immediately issued an official statement on Tuesday, May 19, stressing that they were able to identify, isolate and screen a probable Covid-19 case.
Contact tracing and quarantine procedures have been conducted, the statement said.
The case and its contacts have been reported to the Bohol Provincial Health Office and the Department of Health-Center for Health Developmebt Region 7-Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (DOH-CHD 7 RESU).
Samples for confirmatory testing have been taken and sent to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Sub-National Laboratory (VSMMC SNL) in Cebu City.
The RCH likewise assured the public that proper disinfecting procedures are being done based on stringent protocol set by the ICC and Infectious Disease Specialists.
