A sitio in a village in Danao town was placed under “lockdown” for 14 days after a resident died of Covid-19.

In a Facebook post, Danao Mayor Jose Cepedoza placed Sitio Cantiwas in Barangay Poblacion on lockdown since yesterday, July 17 until July 31.

The municipal government has decided to place the entire sitio under a total lockdown.

It is prohibited for anyone in Sitio Cantiwas to go out of their homes or for anyone to enter the place in a bid to stop the spread of the deadly virus.

Policemen and barangay tanods were also deployed in Sitio Cantiwas to make sure residents will stay inside their houses.

While on lockdown, food and other basic necessities will be provided by either the village officials or the municipal government.

In a public advisory, Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) said the patient was admitted in the hospital on July 7, 2020.

The patient was a 68-year-old male.

He was placed on Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (Community Acquired Pneumonia-High Risk) monitoring.

Unfortunately, he expired eight days after his admission.
