2nd Calape resident dies of COVID-19; 3rd death in Bohol

The town of Calape logged its second COVID-related death as results of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for a local who turned positive.

Another resident of Calape town died of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the third recorded COVID-related death in the province of Bohol.

The patient was a 76-year-old woman from Looc,Pangangan Island.

Authorities have yet to specify whether the patient has travel history or not.

Bohol Governor Arthur Yap on Saturday, July 18, said the patient tested positive for PCR test as relayed by the Department of Health.

The patient was admitted at the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital on July 14 and died the following day, Yap added.

The governor has tasked the Provincial Health Office to coordinate with Rural Health Unit of Calape town for the conduct of contact tracing and necessary isolation of direct contact.

“Balikon ko ang atong pahimangno, sundon nato ang minimum health standards. Dili ta mokumpyansa. Protektahan nato ang atong kaugalingon ug atong pamilya,” Yap added.

Last May, an 89-year-old man in Pangangan Island with no known travel history died of COVID-19.

Another resident of Danao, a 68-year-old man also with no travel history, died last week and was confirmed COVID-19 positive yesterday.
