A House of Representatives panel on Friday voted to deny ABS-CBN’s bid for a fresh 25-year franchise.
Voting 70-11, the House Committee on Legislative Franchises denied the consolidated bills which would have granted the company a new license to resume broadcast operations.
ABS-CBN’s broadcast operations halted two months ago following the expiry of its franchise, in compliance with the National Telecommunications Commission’s shutdown order.
