Locally stranded individuals (LSIs) in Cebu City are still allowed to enter Bohol even after the city was placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) due to high rate of COVID-19 infection.

This was confirmed by Dr. Cesar Tomas “Yul” Lopez, the Capitol’s spokesperson on COVID-19-related matters, during a virtual presser on Thursday afternoon.

As of June 17, there were already 3,983 LSIs who came home to Bohol since May 17.

Out of the total number, there were 733 LSIs who had completed their 14 days quarantine, while 3,250 LSIs are still on mandatory quarantine.

In an advisory, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) said LSIs with complete documents can still travel to and from areas placed under ECQ, like Cebu City.

The Operational Guidelines on the Management of LSIs (NTF Order 2020-002) dated May 13, 2020 was crafted to address consequences of the cross-border movement controls during the implementation of community quarantine when many individuals are stuck in other places.

“Again, there is no suspension on the travel of LSIs. Their travel shall remain unhampered. NTF order 2020-002 remains in force and effect,” it said in an advisory.

LSIs, however, will still have to undergo local health protocols implemented by their LGU of destination.
