Bohol Governor Arthur Yap announced on Friday, June 12, that there will be a possibility that the province will shift from general community quarantine to a modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
Yap said the decision will be known next week. MGCQ is the most relaxed form of community quarantine imposed by the Philippine government.
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) is the national government’s decision-making body for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) response.
The IATF-EID has placed Bohol under general community quarantine (GCQ) from May 1 to June 15 following the issuances of two separate resolutions last month.
Yap then issued two separate Executive Orders backing the said resolutions.
The IATF-EID also listed the province as among the low-risk areas in the country having lower reported cases of COVID-19.
Under the IATF General Guidelines, areas under MGCQ will have more relaxed measures that include allowing all individuals to now go out of their residences, dine-in services in restaurants will now be allowed at 50% capacity, colleges and universities are allowed to conduct face to face interactions provided that they’ll observe the strict minimum health standards, and industries under Category IV such as tourism areas will now be allowed to operate.
