All 729 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), who are currently under quarantine in different hotels in Bohol province, are well and showed no signs or symptoms that they have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This is the update provided by Dr. Yul Lopez, Capitol spokesman on coronavirus, during the regular Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) Updates on Wednesday afternoon.
Lopez indicated that there will be 19 of them who will undergo a Rapid Antibody Test (RAT) on Friday since they will be completing their mandatory 14-day quarantine by then.
These OFWs that are currently quarantined at the Bluewater Panglao will have to undergo this before they’ll be allowed to go home to their respective towns.
RAT will be administered, according to Lopez, on the 13th or 14th day of the quarantine period since this is considered the ideal time frame for anyone who has contracted a virus to develop antibodies.
In an earlier press briefing with Bohol Gov. Arthur Yap, he indicated that the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test would only be done on OFWs or Locally Stranded Individuals who manifest symptoms of COVID-19 and would test positive for RAT.
