Former Loay Mayor Rosemarie Lim-Imboy— the first lady mayor of Loay — will be laid to rest on Monday, April 13.

In a Facebook post, her daughter, former Loay Mayor Rochelle Brigitte Imboy-Abutazil, announced on Friday that the interment of Imboy would take place Monday at the Angelicum Garden of Angels in Cebu.

Imboy’s family requested that “all those whose lives he touched to pray for the eternal repose of her soul.”

Imboy, 61, died “peacefully in her sleep” last Friday, April 10.

Rosemarie Imboy served as Loay mayor from 2007 to 2016. She served as president of the League of the Municipalities (LMP)-Bohol and was elected LMP National Treasurer from 2010 to 2013.

“Being a public servant was Rosemarie’s passion. She loved helping people and her generosity and care to the people was endless,” Abutazil said.

Imboy, a mother of five and a grandmother was described by her children as exceptional.

” She was strong yet loving, she was strict yet comforting, she gave freedom and independence yet she watched closely. She pushed them to excel yet she accepted their shortcomings. Until her last moments, she exuded only love to her children and grandchildren,” said Abutazil.

“Rosemarie Imboy was also a selfless sister, a trustworthy friend and a compassionate employer. She is known to light up any room with her smile and is always graceful in everything she did. Even with her battle against cancer, she was graceful, strong and smiling till the very end,” Abutazil added.

She is survived by her children Rowena I. Lim, Jonathan L. Imboy, Roxanne Mae I. Garcia, Rochelle Brigitte I. Abutazil and Jethro Nathaniel L. Imboy and her siblings and grandchildren.
