The community quarantine over Bohol will be extended until May 4, a high-ranking official said on Tuesday.

Acting Vice Governor Victor Balite said Bohol Governor Arthur Yap told him and other board members that he would extend the quarantine to May 4 to further contain the spread of coronavirus.

“Sigun sa sulti sa atoang Gobernador kaganina sa among pre-session, miingon siya nga pirmado na niya for the extension of enhanced community quarantine. Wala pay effectivity although signed na niya until May 4,” Balite told reporters after Tuesday’s session at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

Under the earlier order, the present quarantine is scheduled to end at 12:00 a.m. of April 12.

“So far, kaming board members wala pa nakadawat sa Executive Order. Wala pa mi kahibalo kung naa bay additional,” Balite said.

He said he and other board members favored the extension.

“Gani nag-lockdown ta kay pugngan ang pagsud sa virus. We have to sacrifice ourselves,” he added.

Bohol is home to over 1.3 million people.
