Bohol now has 10 recorded patients admitted in different hospitals in the province under severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) surveillance.
The gradual increase began on April 2 after having a zero figure for SARI on the report last April 1 by the Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD 7).

In their latest report released today, DOH-CHD 7 also indicated that there are 13 patients admitted in the hospitals and 335 on home isolation for influenza-like illness (ILI) monitoring.

DOH-CHD 7 also reported that there are 611 persons under home quarantine and considered as persons under monitoring (PUM) in Bohol.
Earlier, the health agency has shifted its classification from the usual person under investigation (PUI) to SARI and ILI monitoring in order to widen the scope of its surveillance since there was already a confirmed sustained community transmission of COVID-19 last month in the some areas in the country.
COVID-19 has similar symptoms of a person with SARI or ILI including cough, colds, fever and among others.
Dr. Jaime Bernadas, regional director of DOH-CHD-7 in a video interview, calls on local government units not to be complacent with the situation and continue implementing their containment measures in order to prevent possible community transmission in any areas in the region.
Bohol earlier had one confirmed COVID-19 case in February. She was a Chinese national who visited the province in January but was later discharged on January 31 after recovering from the illness.
