The Department of Health (DOH) reported 76 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Saturday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 3,094.
In a 4 p.m. case bulletin, the DOH also reported 5 new recoveries.
There are also 8 new deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities to 144.
Meanwhile, there are no new COVID-19 cases in Central Visayas for two consecutive days.
The Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, a sub-national laboratory recently accredited by the World Health Organization (WHO) to test samples for COVID-19, conducted 45 tests on Saturday, April 4, and no one tested positive for the deadly virus.
Government earlier said it was eyeing mass testing of patients under investigation and under monitoring starting April 14.
