The smiles on the eyes of at least nine stranded students at the University of the Philippines – Los Baños (UPLB) are visible on photos shared on social media.
Finally, after being stranded since March, they are going home.
Since the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon, their only refuge and option was to stay in the school.
On Friday morning, they finally left the campus at 9:40 a.m. for their waiting flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
They were tested too prior to their departure for Bohol.
At 2 p.m., the plane they boarded arrived at Bohol Panglao International Airport, according to a post by Dauis town Mayor Marietta Tocmo-Sumaylo.
According to UPLB’s post on their Facebook page, this was made possible through the efforts of the UPLB Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (UPLB-OVCSA) under their Oplan Hatid Program.
Their trip was also coordinated with the provincial government led by League of the Municipalities (LMP)-Bohol president Mayor Sumaylo.
Minute Burger products were provided to them courtesy of Andy Abarquez (BS Statistics UPLB) of the UP EPSILON CHI FRATERNITY.
These students were brought to an undisclosed quarantine facility for their mandatory 14-day quarantine.
