Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Bohol and personnel of the Department of Agriculture are going around the province to investigate possible rice hoarding.

NBI said they started the investigation last Tuesday, March 31, which primarily covered the warehouses of rice traders and millers in Bohol.

There are 15 rice bodegas in the province, the biggest is in Ubay and Pilar town.

In Catigbian town, the Mesiona Ricemill in Barangay Baang sold their milled broken rice at P38/kilo or P1,200 per sack which is not overpriced.

So far, no one violated the price ceiling, suggested retail price and price freeze of commodities amid the threat of the coronavirus disease.

Meanwhile, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Bohol is conducting price monitoring on basic commodities in the province to ensure the price freeze is being implemented.

Under the Proclamation No. 922 or the declaration of public health emergency, there will be a price freeze for 60 days or until it has been lifted.
