Covid-19 deaths in PH rises to 12

The Department of Health has announced that there are now 12 recorded deaths due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the Philippines.

In a latest update released by the agency, it said that the latest patient who died was a 56-year-old man admitted at the Makati Medical Center.

The man, with patient ID of PH12, was confirmed to have contracted the virus last March 9.

He died tonight, March 15, due to acute respiratory distress syndrome secondary to Covid-19.

He was reported to also have a pre-existing asthma.

This now brings the total number of deaths to 12 in the country since the first reported local case announced last March 5.

As of Sunday, March 15, there are now a total of 29 newly confirmed Covid-19 cases.

This now brings to a total number of 140 cases in the country.
