A fire leveled at least nine houses in Barangay Totolan in Dauis town on Thursday night, March 5, 2020.
The blaze began at past 6 p.m. at one of the houses in Purok 3.
At least 100 houses of the Badjao community were spared from the fire which was controlled after half an hour.
No one was reportedly injured.
Firefighters had difficulty reaching the fire scene due to narrow alleys and lack of road network leading to the residential area.
The families displaced by the fire were temporarily sheltered at the covered court of Barangay Totolan.
The Bureau of Fire Protection in Dauis
is still investigating the possible causes of the fire.
