A policeman was arrested for indiscriminate firing on Tuesday.

Police Colonel Jonathan Cabal, acting director of the Bohol Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested police officer as Police Corporal Marcelo Olaer, assigned at the Valencia Police Station.

Investigation showed that residents of Barangay Casbu in Guindulman town reported that the suspect, also a resident of the barangay, was firing his hand gun indiscriminately for unknown reason last February 1.

Guindulman police personnel immediately responded and recovered empty shells of Glock 17.

Olaer is now facing charges for illegal discharge of firearm, alarm and scandal and violation of Republic Act 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.

Cabal said an administrative case will also be filed against Olaer.

“We will also be filing administrative case sa kanya yung grave misconduct. At the same if ever baka puwede rin yung conduct unbecomming of officer,” said Cabal.

Cabal asked police to give pride and dignity of being a member of the PNP.

“For every missteps o abusadong pulis na namamaril o nananakit kahit anong accomplishments ng Bohol pulis, mabalewala lang yan,” he said.
