Bodyguard of Ubay vice mayor hurt in an attack

The bodyguard of Ubay Vice Mayor Victor Bonghanoy was injured after being shot several times by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Ubay town on Wednesday morning, January 29, 2020.

Police Corporal Fernando Doguiles, investigator on the case at Ubay Police Station, said Diomedes Flor, 57, was driving his motorcycle at around 9:45 a.m. when the gunmen on board a motorcycle shot him before escaping towards Barangay Tipolo.

Personnel of the Tarsier 117 responded to the crime scene and immediately brought the victim to Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered at least four fired cartridges of .45 caliber and 9mm pistol and two live ammos.

Investigation is now ongoing to determine the motive of the suspects.
