Acting Bohol Governor Rene Lopez Relampagos urged the public not to panic after two Chinese nationals were reported to be carrying the deadly coronavirus.
In an emergency meeting called on Wednesday (Jan. 22) afternoon, Relampagos convened the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), provincial health officials and other agencies to know the readiness of the agencies.
“There is no cause for alarm. We are in top of the situation. Kadtong mga so-called reported possible cases, the protocols have already been done,” he told reporters.
He said there was no validation yet if the two Chinese nationals were positive of the said virus.
A Chinese kid was brought to Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital. The other Chinese national was brought to Ramiro Hospital.
They showed symptoms of the virus.
They were monitored by health authorities after samples were taken from them for further validation.
“Wala yamuy alarm. Walay validation nga positive sila. Mga precautionary measures,” he added.
Relampagos said there was a need to monitor the reported cases because it will have a great impact to the province.
