INABANGA, Bohol — Authorities seized nearly P2 million worth of suspected illegal drugs in a late-night anti-drug operation that led to the arrest of a 59-year-old woman on Monday, April 13, 2026.

Operatives of the Inabanga Municipal Drug Enforcement Team carried out a buy-bust operation at around 11:05 p.m. in Purok 4, Barangay Badiang, resulting in the confiscation of approximately 293.84 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1,998,112.

The suspect, a widowed restaurant attendant and resident of the town, was immediately taken into custody following the operation led by Police Lieutenant Ryan Lumen, chief of the Inabanga Municipal Police Station.

Authorities described the operation as a significant breakthrough in the municipality’s ongoing campaign against illegal drugs, noting that the volume of seized narcotics could have had a substantial impact on the local supply not only in Inabanga but also in nearby areas.

The confiscated substances have been turned over to the Bohol Provincial Forensic Unit for proper examination and disposition.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspect, who remains under police custody.

Bohol Police Provincial Director Police Colonel Patricio Degay Jr. commended the operating team, emphasizing that the successful operation sends a strong message that authorities will continue to intensify efforts against illegal drug activities.

He also underscored the serious threat posed by illegal drugs to public safety and community well-being, reaffirming the police force’s commitment to maintaining peace and order across the province.

The latest operation highlights the continuing coordination between law enforcement and the community in the drive to keep Bohol drug-free.
