Separate road mishaps claimed two lives in the towns of Baclayon and Panglao.

One was a pedestrian while the other was driving a motorcycle, respectively.

Fifty-year-old Erico Galbo was hit and killed in Barangay Guiwanon, Baclayon town while crossing the street.

Galbo, resident of the same barangay, was hit by a Toyota Fortuner driven by Michael Galaora, 29, a resident of Barangay Taloto, Tagbilaran City.

“Nagduhaduha sa paglabang ang biktima naabtan kini sa sakyanan nga maoy nakaingon sa pagkadisgrasya,” said Police Corporal Janet Opeña of Baclayon Police Station.

The incident was reported around 6 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2020.

Victim was brought to a hospital in Tagbilaran but was declared dead on arrival.

Initially, police said Galbo may have died from the impact of the crash.

Meanwhile, Randy Balatero, 26, died on Friday night, January 17, while being treated admitted in a hospital.

Balatero was driving his motorycle with his live-in partner Clarita Mijos, 21, and son Rico Balatero, 10 months old, when he collided with the incoming motorcyle.

The collision happened in Barangay Looc, Panglao town.

The incident happened at 9 p.m. Thursday, January 16.

The victim’s partner and son both sustained minor injuries, while Balatero succumbed to his injuries.
