Bohol Police yet to identify motive in Maribojoc ambush

The Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) is looking into all angles to identify the motive behind the Maribojoc ambush that killed a policeman and hurt his wife.

“We are still looking at all possible angles,” Police Provincial Director, Colonel Jonathan Cabal said on Tuesday.

He added “we will check all his other activities, all angles are looked into.”

The couple were said to be on their way home to Tubigon town when the gunmen fired at them.

Arnel suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while Richelle suffered from gunshot wounds in her arm and left leg.

The victims were immediately brought to the hospital.

Arnel was declared dead on arrival at Maribojoc District Hospital, while Richelle was brought to Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City for treatment.

At least 19 empty shells were found by police in the crime scene.

Maribojoc police said no witness has stepped out following their investigation, as the crime scene was said to be in a “dark, uninhabited” portion of Maribojoc.
