Injured dolphin found in Jagna town died

An injured dolphin that was found in Jagna town on Friday afternoon died shortly after it was saved.

Local fishermen said the dolphin was found on the shore of Barangay Looc.

The dolphin identified as a female bottle nose dolphin was at least 3 meters long.

It had an injury in the stomach and near the tail.

Personnel from Jagna municipal disaster risk reduction and management office and municipal agriculture’s office tried to save the dolphin but it died.

It was immediately buried in Barangay Poblacion, the town’s capital.
