TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL — The provincial government of Bohol has called for an emergency meeting of the Provincial Price Coordinating Council (PPCC) on Tuesday, June 24, to address possible fare increases and rising service costs triggered by the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, which is affecting global fuel prices.
Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado announced the move, stressing the need for swift and coordinated action to prepare for the potential economic impacts on the province.
“Mga Sano ug Sana, akong ipahibalo kaninyo nga nagpatawag kita og emergency meeting karong adlawa sa tanang membro sa atong Provincial Price Coordinating Council, aron paspas nato nga mapangandaman ang posibleng pagsaka sa pletehan ug ubang mga serbisyo nga maapektuhan sa pagtaas sa presyo sa gasolina,” the governor said in a statement.
Aumentado assured Boholanos that the Provincial Government continues to closely monitor both local economic conditions and international developments that could affect the province.
“Ang Kagamhanang Probinsyal, walay hunong sa pagbantay sa lakaw sa atong ekonomiya, ug sa sitwasyon sa gawas sa nasod, kay kamong akong hinigugmang mga Bol-anon, ang kanunay nakong gihunahuna,” he added.
The governor said the provincial leadership, in partnership with Capitol departments and other agencies, is actively seeking measures to soften the blow of external crises on the province.
He appealed for public understanding and cooperation as proactive steps are taken to protect Bohol’s economic stability.
“Positibo ang atong panglantaw nga dako og kahimuan ang atong kanunay nga pagtinabangay,” Aumentado said.
The Provincial Price Coordinating Council, composed of local government officials, trade and industry representatives, and consumer groups, is expected to craft recommendations and possible temporary measures in response to the fuel price increases and their effects on public transport and other services.
