Under code white alert, DOH said all hospital staff especially those assigned in emergency rooms, surgeons and those with specialization on trauma and injuries, are not allowed to go on leave.

Meanwhile, the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) is also on the alert and is continuously monitoring the entire province.

According to Police Col. Jonathan Cabal, they are really aiming to achieve the zero firecracker-related injuries until the New Year revelry is over.

He said they have been encouraging residents to avoid using firecrackers and fireworks and instead join in the community fireworks display.
