‘Ursula’ enters PAR

Tropical Storm Ursula (international name: Phanfone) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 5 a.m. on Monday, Pagasa said.

In its 5 a.m. weather forecast, Pagasa said Eastern Visayas, Northeastern Mindanao and the southern part of Bicol will feel Ursula’s gusty winds and rains by Tuesday.

Ursula is expected to make landfall in Visayas and some parts of Southern Luzon.

On Wednesday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day, Ursula will traverse Central Visayas, Western Visayas then exit Southern Luzon.

As of early Monday morning, Ursula’s eye or center was located 1,000 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

It has maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
