Filipinos are keeping their collective fingers crossed, hoping against hope that our bet, Gazini Ganados, will win the Miss Universe crown, hopefully a back-to-back victory for the Philippines, with the grand finals set for December 8 (December 9 in the Philippines).
Gazini, who traced her roots to Loon town in Bohol province, became Miss Bohol 2017 1st runner-up.
Traveling alone with bulging suitcases, Gazini stood out among the contestants during the preliminary of the competition.
During the national costume, she showcased her national costume designed by Cary Santiago.
The silver costume included a Philippine eagle-inspired headpiece with two birds on the sleeves.
Her regal bearing, quick wit and intelligence might work in her favor to win the country’ 5th Miss Universe crown.
The Miss Universe 2019 takes place locally on Sunday, December 8 from Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.
Representatives from 90 countries around the world will participate in hopes of becoming the next Miss Universe.
Five-time Emmy® Award winner, and one of television’s favorite entertainers, Steve Harvey will host.
Social media personality, model and Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo alongside actress and Miss Teen USA 1998 Vanessa Lachey will appear together as backstage hosts to take viewers behind-the-scenes interacting with the women participating in the competition.
Musical guest Ally Brooke performs.
