President Rodrigo Duterte has fired Vice President Leni Robredo from her post as co-chair of the Inter-agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD).
Robredo was able to serve as an ICAD co-chair for only two weeks.
Executive Salvador Medialdea confirmed this to reporters on Sunday evening.
Duterte earlier said he will fire the opposition stalwart if she discloses confidential information to foreign entities in connection with his brutal war on drugs.
Robredo has been a staunch critic of how the Duterte administration has been conducting its campaign against illegal drugs,
Despite appointing her as ICAD co-chair, Duterte has said that he does not trust Robredo.
