Four women were rescued by NBI-Bohol.

Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Bohol rescued four women on Tuesday afternoon.

After receiving of complaints, NBI investigated and arrested Rosalina Angalot, 46, a resident of Tagbilaran City for promoting prostitution.

The victims, two are originally from Mindanao and two from Tagbilaran, were between the ages of 27 to 40.

Lawyer Glenn Damasing of NBI-Bohol said the case stemmed from an information received by NBI regarding the human trafficking activity of Angalot.

“Further investigation revealed that Angalot was engaging in human trafficking having transaction with foreigners,” Damasing said.

Series of surveillances were conducted until Angalot was arrested on Tuesday, November 19, at past 5 p.m. in a resort in Tagbilaran.

The women were the brought to the NBI Office where acting City Social Welfare and Development Cerina Sia interviewed the victims and gathered data for their recording purposes.

The suspect will be charged with violation of Republic Act (RA) 9208 as amended by RA 10364 or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012.
