Two days after the deadly temblor, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake rocked parts of southern Philippines on Thursday morning.
Like the October 29 earthquake, the latest one’s epicenter was at Tulunan town in Cotabato.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake happened at 9:11 a.m. and was tectonic in origin.
The earthquake was located at 33 kilometer north east of Tulunan with a depth of kilometers.
Intensity VII was felt in Tulunan, Cotabato; Kidapawan City; and Bansalan, Davao del Sur, while Intensity VI was experienced in Matanao, Davao Del Sur.
Risk Reduction and Management Office chief Pslamer Bernalte said an establishment, Eva’s Hotel, had collapsed.
Bernalte said there might be people inside the hotel as he observed some ambulances rushing to the area and people receiving treatment.
The death toll from the October 29 earthquake was pegged at 8 as of Thursday, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
