The local government unit (LGU) of Panglao in Bohol on Thursday morning ordered the closure of a McDonald’s branch three days it was opened to the public in Alona Beach in Barangay Tawala.

The McDonald’s branch is the third branch outside the capital city of Tagbilaran. Four other branches are found at BQ Mall and J.A. Clarin Street, Jagna and Tubigon towns.

Panglao Mayor Leonila Paredes-Montero instructed Engr. Rogelio Bonao, municipal engineer; Rena Guivencan, municipal treasure and Natividad Guibone, BPLO, to close the branch.
Montero said it has no occupancy permit, no fire safety inspection certificate and a business permit.
The suspension is indefinite until the management can comply the necessary permits and consequently a mayor’s permit will be issued to the operator.
There is no official statement from the management.
