TAGBILARAN CITY — More than 200 aspiring police officers from Bohol are expected to take the Philippine National Police Academy Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT) on Sunday, Oct. 25, at Tagbilaran City College, following a request by Gov. Aris Aumentado to bring the examination to the province.

The examination will be held in Bohol for the first time, sparing local applicants the additional expenses and inconvenience of traveling to testing centers outside the province.

Aumentado said the provincial government would continue coordinating with the PNPA to ensure that Bohol could host the entrance examination in the coming years, making the application process more accessible to aspiring cadets.

The governor met with a PNPA delegation led by PLt. Col. Arnel Angeles Peñera, chief examiner of the cadet admission test, during the officials’ visit to the provincial government.

The delegation included Maj. Melanie Bumacas, PNPACAT chief proctor; Lt. Col. Joemar Pomarejos, chief of the Police Intelligence Unit; Capt. Kentbel Ceasar Parcon, chief of police of Panglao; and Lt. Dave Surio, chief of police of Lila.

Aumentado thanked the PNPA for granting his request to conduct the examination in Bohol and expressed hope that the applicants would succeed.

The PNPA has also announced that walk-in applications for the 2026 entrance examination will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applicants must proceed to Tagbilaran City College between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Oct. 25 and present their completed application forms and documentary requirements, including a valid identification card, birth certificate, latest Form 137 or 138 showing a general weighted average of at least 85%, and two passport-size or 2-by-2 identification pictures with name tags.

Applicants must personally register, as representatives are not allowed. They are also required to wear proper attire, preferably plain white shirts or tops, and bring a black ballpen and a No. 2 pencil for the examination.

The PNPA is the training institution for future commissioned officers of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
