TAGBILARAN CITY— The traditional nine-night activities for the 2026 Barangay Cogon fiesta will not be held this year as the Cogon Gymnasium is set to undergo renovation and rehabilitation.
Barangay Captain Geneson Balbin announced the change, saying the gymnasium would not be available for the activities traditionally held for nine days leading up to the Oct. 15 fiesta.
Balbin said the barangay would first complete the ongoing Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Liga activities. After these are finished, the gymnasium will be prepared for the scheduled renovation works.
He asked residents for their understanding as the barangay gives way to the improvement of the community facility.
“This year, magpahuway sa ta gamay,” Balbin said, expressing hope that residents could gather again next year in a better and fully renovated Cogon Gymnasium.
The barangay thanked residents for their continued support and cooperation.
