TAGBILARAN CITY —Several Bohol local government units (LGUs), community volunteers and partner groups were recognized at the 2026 National Bayani Ka! cum TATAK KALAHI Awards held in Bacolod City on Sept. 22.
The awards recognized LGUs, volunteers and partner organizations for their contributions to the successful implementation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s KALAHI-CIDSS (Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services) program.
Among the Bohol awardees were Mary Jane Bernadez, national nominee for the Exceptional Persons With Disability Volunteer category; Jocelyn Hinampas, national nominee for the Indigenous Peoples’ Welfare category; Phoebe Palmero, regional winner in the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management category; and Jesus Salarda, national nominee for the Exceptional Senior Citizen Volunteer category.
The Municipality of Guindulman was named national winner in the CDD Institutionalization category, while San Isidro won the national award for Improved Local Governance.
Panglao was also named a national nominee for the Tatak Kalahi LGU 2026 category.
The recognition highlighted the role of community participation and collaboration among LGUs, volunteers, partner organizations and residents in addressing the needs of local communities.
