TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — The National Housing Authority (NHA) distributed a total of P48.84 million in financial assistance to 4,884 families affected by Super Typhoon Odette in Catigbian, Bohol, on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026.
The assistance was distributed at the CPG Park at the Bohol Provincial Capitol as part of the government’s “Handog ng Pangulo” program.
Each qualified beneficiary received P10,000 in cash assistance under the NHA’s Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP), which provides support to families whose homes were damaged or destroyed by disasters.
NHA officials and Bohol Gov. Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado led the turnover of the assistance to the beneficiaries.
The distribution formed part of a nationwide government activity held in connection with the birthday of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., bringing together various government agencies to deliver basic services and livelihood assistance to communities.
The NHA said the EHAP is intended to help families recover from disasters that have damaged or destroyed their homes.
Although nearly five years have passed since Super Typhoon Odette (international name Rai) struck the country in December 2021, the government continues to release delayed assistance funds to affected families in Central Visayas to help them recover from the disaster.
Odette, one of the strongest typhoons to hit the Philippines in 2021, caused widespread damage to homes and infrastructure across Bohol and other parts of the Visayas.
