A woman has called on authorities in Ubay, Bohol, to investigate the alleged vandalism of her sister’s tomb and coffin, as well as the reported loss of personal belongings placed inside the tomb.
In a Facebook post, Lydia Excell appealed to Ubay Mayor Constantino Reyes and local police to take action over what she described as a disturbing incident involving the tomb of her sister, Ligaya.
Excell said the tomb had allegedly been damaged and opened, with the coffin also reportedly destroyed.
She said she had placed some of Ligaya’s favorite clothes, jewelry, bags and two mobile phones inside the tomb. One of the phones, she said, was worth around P15,000.
Excell said the damage was discovered by her nieces and nephews on August 21, 2026.
Expressing anger and grief, she called on authorities to identify those responsible and hold them accountable.
The allegations have not yet been independently verified, and it was not immediately clear whether a police investigation had been initiated or if any suspects had been identified.
