MARIBOJOC, Bohol — Residents of Maribojoc continued to face difficulties on Monday, July 13, as they crossed the damaged Bato Bridge, with the situation becoming more hazardous during high tide.
Photos and videos shared on Facebook by Scara Joe showed students, workers, and other residents carefully making their way across the damaged bridge to reach schools, workplaces, and other important destinations.
The rising seawater during high tide made the crossing even more dangerous, increasing the risk for those forced to use the bridge despite its condition.
With no immediate alternative route available, many residents said they had no choice but to brave the damaged structure to carry out their daily activities.
The situation has prompted concern from netizens, who called on concerned government agencies to expedite the implementation of a permanent solution to ensure the safety of commuters and residents using the bridge.
