TAGBILARAN CITY — Another major hotel development is set to rise in Panglao following the groundbreaking ceremony for the Grand Summit Bohol project led by Robinsons Hotels and Resorts and Robinsons Land Corporation on Wednesday, May 20, in Barangay Doljo.
The upcoming luxury beachfront hotel, which will feature more than 200 rooms, is expected to boost tourism activity in Bohol while creating employment and business opportunities for local residents.
Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado said the investment reflects the growing confidence of major developers in the province’s tourism industry and economic direction.
According to Aumentado, the project will further enhance Panglao’s reputation as a world-class tourist destination and contribute to the province’s continuing economic recovery and expansion.
He also stressed the importance of sustainable growth, noting that Bohol continues to pursue tourism development while protecting its environment and natural resources as the country’s first Unesco Global Geopark.

Present during the ceremony were JG Summit Chairman Emeritus James Go, Robinsons Land Corporation President and CEO Mybelle Aragon-Go-Bio, Robinsons Hotels and Resorts Senior Vice-President and Business Unit General Manager Barun Jolly, Robinsons Hotels and Resorts Vice-President Annalyn Yap, Balilihan Councilor Pureza Chatto, and Panglao Mayor Edgardo Arcay.
The Grand Summit Bohol will rise on a 7,737-square-meter beachfront property located around 20 minutes from the Bohol-Panglao International Airport.
The hotel is expected to open in 2028 and will cater to both local and foreign travelers.
