TAGBILARAN CITY — The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) achieved a historic feat after garnering multiple major awards during the 2026 Philippine National Police (PNP) Day celebration on February 23 at Camp Sergio Osmeña.

Under the PNP and evaluated by Police Regional Office 7, BPPO was named Best Police Provincial Office, recognizing its strong operational performance, effective leadership, and sustained community-based policing efforts under Provincial Director Col. Patricio Degay Jr.

Several component units also brought pride to the province. The Tagbilaran City Police Station was awarded Best Component City Police Station, while the Loon Municipal Police Station earned the title of Best Municipal Police Station. The Bohol Provincial Mobile Force Company was likewise recognized as the region’s Best Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Individual police personnel were also honored for operational excellence. MSg. Joel Orapa received the award for Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operations, while SSg. Luwen Refulle was named Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operations — reflecting the professionalism and dedication of Bohol’s police force.

The recognition also underscored strong collaboration between law enforcement and the Provincial Government of Bohol under Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado.

The Province of Bohol was conferred as Outstanding Local Government Unit, while the Municipality of Ubay was named Outstanding Municipality.

The awards mark a significant institutional milestone for BPPO and reaffirm its commitment to public safety, disciplined service, and strengthened community partnerships across Bohol.
