Valentine’s promise: Galacio and Hitgano Nuptials

For eight years, Feliciano Galacio and Concepcion Hitgano shared a home in Barangay Cogon, but their love story began long before that—on a small cellphone screen.

Feliciano was in Manila then, working and living far from Bohol. Concepcion, a widow in Tagbilaran, had grown used to quiet evenings and memories of a life once shared. What started as simple online chats—kumusta, kumain ka na ba?—slowly turned into long conversations that stretched past midnight. Distance did not silence their laughter. It deepened their longing.

In time, Feliciano made a choice. He left Manila and returned home, not just to Bohol, but to Concepcion.

They built a life together—simple, steady, and certain. Mornings were shared over coffee, evenings over stories of the day. Eight years passed not in grand gestures, but in small acts of devotion.

On Valentine’s Day, beneath the solemn arches of the St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral-Shrine, they finally stood before the altar. At 50 and 56, they held hands not with the nervousness of youth, but with the quiet confidence of two people who had already chosen each other every day.

The couple thanked the Tagbilaran City Government headed by Mayor Jane Yap for the opportunity to be officially married.

When they said “I do,” it was not just a vow for the future.

It was a promise fulfilled.
