Once realized, the third bridge is seen as a major solution to persistent traffic congestion between Tagbilaran City and Panglao Island. It is also expected to improve access from the Bohol–Panglao International Airport to the provincial capital and support the efficient movement of people, goods, and services.

The initiative forms part of the provincial government’s Strategic Change Agenda under Gov. Aris Aumentado, which emphasizes infrastructure development as a driver of economic growth and improved public service delivery.

Joining the inspection were 1st District Representative John Geesnell Yap, Dauis Mayor Marietta Tocmo- Sumaylo, Engr. John Paul Gascon of the DPWH 1st District Engineering Office, and Provincial Legal Officer Handel Lagunay.

Provincial officials said the project underscores Bohol’s commitment, to enhance connectivity while pursuing sustainable and inclusive development for Bol-anons.
