P1.24M worth of shabu seized in Panglao drug bust

PANGLAO, Bohol — Police seized more than P1.24 million worth of suspected shabu during a joint anti-illegal drugs operation on January 30, 2026, in this tourist town.

The operation, conducted by the Panglao Municipal Police Station (MPS) in coordination with the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) and the Regional Intelligence Division 7, led to the arrest of Peter John Dote, a resident of Tagbilaran City, who was identified as a high-value individual (HVI).

Recovered from the suspect were several sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, along with assorted drug paraphernalia.

Authorities said the seized drugs weighed 182.6 grams with a standard drug price of P1,241,680. These were submitted to the Bohol Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.

Dote is currently detained at the Panglao MPS custodial facility, while police prepare the filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
