TAGBILARAN CITY — Vina R. Antopina, provincial director of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in Bohol, has been conferred the Gawad Lingkod Bayan ng Pangulo, the highest recognition granted to exemplary government employees in the Philippines.
Antopina was formally honored during Pagpupugay 2025: Parangal sa mga Lingkod Bayani, held at Malacañang Palace on January 28, 2026.
The awarding ceremony was led by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.
The Gawad Lingkod Bayan ng Pangulo recognizes public servants who have demonstrated exceptional performance, integrity, and dedication to public service. Antopina was cited for her leadership and sustained contributions to science and technology programs in Bohol.
Under her stewardship, DOST-Bohol has implemented various science and technology initiatives aimed at improving community welfare and supporting local development. She is also known for her hands-on guidance of DOST scholars in the province, whom she mentors and supports throughout their academic journey.
Antopina has consistently emphasized beneficiary-centered implementation in the science and technology projects she leads, ensuring that programs address the actual needs of communities and stakeholders.
