CORELLA, Bohol — A 64-year-old man was seriously injured after he was allegedly assaulted and stabbed by his neighbor, also a senior citizen, over a long-standing debt dispute on Tuesday morning, January 13, in Purok 2, Barangay Cancatac, Corella.
The victim was identified as Carlos Ricalde, 64, married, and a resident of Purok 8 in the same barangay.
The suspect was identified as Primo Caybot Ongcoy, 70, married, and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Cancatac.
Based on the investigation of the Corella Municipal Police Station, the incident occurred around 8:45 a.m. while Ricalde was riding his motorcycle on his way to the poblacion of Corella. Upon reaching Barangay Cancatac, he was reportedly flagged down by Ongcoy, who allegedly harbored resentment against the victim due to an unpaid debt dating back several years.
