TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — A 90-year-old woman was mauled by a German shepherd in Alburquerque, Bohol on Monday morning at around 9:30 a.m.
The victim, identified as Zosima Jumawan, a resident of West Poblacion, Alburquerque, was reportedly attacked while sweeping near the boundary of her neighbor’s property, which is owned by a foreigner who keeps a German shepherd.
According to Eutequia, the victim’s daughter, the dog suddenly jumped over the neighbor’s fence and attacked her mother, biting her legs and upper body.
Neighbors and family members quickly intervened, and the dog’s owner restrained the animal, stopping the attack.
Jumawan was immediately brought to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment and is now reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities and the dog’s owner are coordinating to prevent further incidents.
