TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Governor Aris Aumentado has issued a public advisory warning residents against individuals who falsely claim to be him or members of his staff to solicit money or favors.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Aumentado urged the public to remain vigilant after receiving reports of unauthorized persons using his name to approach individuals and businesses for personal gain.

The governor clarified that neither he nor his staff are authorized to ask for money, favors, or any form of assistance from the public, especially through unofficial channels such as phone calls, text messages, or online chats.

Aumentado advised anyone who receives such communications to immediately verify the information with official government offices and report the incident to the provincial government of Bohol for proper action.

He stressed that the provincial government will not tolerate fraudulent activities and remains committed to protecting the public from scams, particularly during the holiday season when such incidents tend to increase.

“Let us work together to prevent scammers from taking advantage of our people,” the governor said.

The public was also encouraged to exercise caution and to rely only on official communication channels to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
