TAGBILARAN CITY — Bohol has earned another regional accolade, being named a Top Performer Provincial LGU at the SubayBayani Siete Awards, in recognition of its strong performance in transparent and accountable infrastructure governance.
Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado received the award on behalf of the province on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The recognition was conferred by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region VII, through Bohol Provincial Director John Joan Mende, during a courtesy visit to the Governor’s Office at the New Provincial Capitol.
The award cited Bohol’s effective utilization of the SubayBAYAN portal, underscoring the provincial government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and results-driven implementation of infrastructure projects. The plaque of recognition was formally signed by DILG Region VII Director Leocadio Trovela.
“Mapasalamaton kita sa atong aktibong partnership uban sa DILG ug sa ilang paghatag og dakong pasidungog sa Kagamhanang Probinsyal kabahin sa kalidad nga serbisyo nga atong gipadangat ug sa malampusong implementasyon sa mga proyekto alang sa komunidad,” Aumentado wrote on his Facebook page.
The regional distinction follows Bohol’s recent recognition as a SubayBAYAN Exemplary Award National Finalist, reinforcing the Capitol’s Strategic Governance Roadmap anchored on good governance.
The award likewise reflects the provincial government’s sustained efforts to ensure the proper, timely, and transparent execution of development projects, contributing to inclusive growth and sustainable development in Bohol—the country’s first and only Unesco Global Geopark.
