Primelectric Holdings, Inc. has taken a major step to secure its long-term supply chain and support its nationwide expansion after top executives visited South Korea’s manufacturing hub last week.
Led by President and CEO Roel Castro, the delegation toured the facilities of Taeyoung Electric Co., Ltd., one of Korea’s leading manufacturers of electrical equipment for power plants, semiconductor facilities, and large-scale infrastructure. The visit signals a deepening partnership between the two companies as Primelectric accelerates development projects across the Philippines.
“Seeing the precision and scale of operations firsthand is invaluable,” Castro said during the tour. “This visit aligns our goals for reliability and technological excellence as we expand and modernize our utility operations.”
Primeelectric subsidiaries—including MORE Power in Iloilo, Negros Power, and Bohol Light—already use Taeyoung-built transformers, switchgear, and other critical components. The site visit allowed Primelectric engineers and managers to observe Taeyoung’s complete production process, from material inspection to final product testing.
Taeyoung, established in 1969, is highly regarded in Korea’s industrial sector and maintains long-standing partnerships with major players such as KEPCO, POSCO, and Samsung C&T.
Engr. Christopher Serojano, Network Distribution and Operations Group manager of MORE Power, said the collaboration is a key part of improving grid performance: “Taeyoung’s engineering expertise directly supports our efforts to build a more resilient and efficient distribution network.”
The visit comes at a pivotal time. With Primelectric projecting higher demand for equipment amid multiple expansion projects, Taeyoung has begun constructing a new manufacturing plant in Ansan, South Korea. Set to open in April 2026, the facility is expected to significantly boost production capacity for partners like Primelectric.
For Primelectric, the partnership not only secures a stable supply of equipment but also strengthens the technical collaboration needed to meet the growing energy needs of Philippine communities.
